Happy St. Patty's Day from AIR-PIPE!

"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time... a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic."
- Adrienne Cook

March is here and hopefully with a little St Patrick's Day luck, we can keep this nice weather we're having. Where's my four-leaf clover!!

Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.

Additional Fun Tidbits About Clovers

  • According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14!
  • One estimate suggests that there are about 10 000 regular three-leaf clovers for every lucky four-leaf clover.

Remember also to check out the annual St Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 13th in downtown Spokane. The parade is open to everyone. Whether you're a dyed-in-the-wool Irish person or just Irish-for-the-day, this is one event you won't want to miss.

AIR-PIPE wishes you a month full of four-leaf clovers!

Techs Experience Vandalism During Install!

Climbing high towers during severe weather conditions is not the only danger our technicians are facing these days. A recent vandal was caught in the act of deliberate mischievousness! The perpetrator was discovered ransacking our technician's vehicle during an installation at a subscriber's location. Evidentially the offender was extremely hungry, as he was found eating an entire bag of pretzels while inside the AIR-PIPE company van.

Thankfully our technician had his camera with him and managed to snap a picture of the lawbreaker while in the act. This piece of evidence was extremely important in our technicians defense, as he was later accused of eating all his co-worker's pretzels. The rightful owner of the pretzel bag and the rest the AIR-PIPE team wouldn't have believed this suspicious story without this great picture.

This incident has been a perfect and humorous reminder for our tech to keep the vehicles locked while performing their installations. Who knows what critter could be hungry next!

TECH-TIP: Is Your Password Strong?

Ever wonder if your passwords are strong or week? Here are some helpful suggestions to remember when creating a password.

A good password is defined as one that is hard to guess and difficult to discover using brute force password discovery software. A good password has the following characteristics:

  • Be 6 to 10 characters in length
  • Have one or more capital letters (A...Z)
  • Have one or more lower case letters (a...z)
  • Include one or more numbers (0-9)
  • Include one or more special characters
    (!, *, &, %, $, #,@)
  • Be a short phrase (such as Up&AtM@7!)

Protect your password

  • Never share your password with anyone
  • Do not create passwords from personal information like family or pet names
  • Ask for the creation of a temporary account if you need access to information when a co-worker is out

If it is hard for you to remember your password write it down, but protect the written information like you would your credit card or social security number.

Thank You For a Successful Show!

Thank You to Aarons!

The Home & Yard Show this last weekend at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center was a great success! We met many new people interested in our Internet service as well as several of our current AIR-PIPE subscribers. We appreciate how so many of you stopped by to say hello and provide us with your feedback. Its always great to visit in person with the people we work so hard to service.

A special thank you from AIR-PIPE goes out to Aaron's, a Sales and Lease Ownership store with multiple locations in the Spokane area, for lending us one of their wonderful 42" big screen TVs to use for our booth display. Aaron's TV provided us with a great way to demonstrate our service to the fair goers, run topographical qualifications, and display a slideshow of some of the awesome pictures we have taken over the years of our team hard at work. It was also a great way to check-in on the USA vs. Canada hockey game through our AIR-PIPE Internet connection, something our neighboring vendors greatly appreciated too!

Thank you to everyone for making this a successful event!
